Office Style

Children are back to school and for the working mum those early morning starts are now filled with a host of extra demands. The time dedicated to preparing for their own working day is cut in half. All working women know the monotony involved in deciding what to wear to the office but especially what to do with their hair. Under such time pressure scraping hair back into an uninspiring ponytail can be seen as the only option to avoid an unprofessional un-kept look. But is it really possible to achieve a stylish classy look that will last throughout the long office day by spending just a few minutes in front of the mirror in the morning?

The team at Cats Hair Studio, part of The Hugh Campbell Hair Group, believe it is so we put them to the test! Two busy professional Limerick women, Valerie Houliban and Susan Gallagher want perfect hair for a busy day at the office. What can the Cats team do for them?

“Susan has a beautiful natural curl and we decided to use this to give a completely new easy to manage look.  The addition of a full side fringe was used to frame the face and add a contrast to the rest of the hair”, explains Aaron Brabazow, stylist and manger at Cats Hair Studio, Arthurs' Quay.

Susan, who works as health service executive at St Joseph Hospital appreciated her new style: “I feel like another person", she said leaving the salon.

Stylist Fiona Egan took care of Valerie: "Versatility is the key to Valerie’s new hair style. She had been growing out a short style so she needed to still keep the length but have a change. It’s quick to style and lasts: blast dry, wax and go. The result is a very young yet professional style.”

For both, Susan and Valerie, colourist Lorraine-Marie Hayes, choose warm rich colours to give hair shine and vitality. “When your hair has that healthy glow you don’t have to put in a lot of work to make it look great!” says Lorraine.

There is no need for elaborate hairstyles that are hard to manage keeping you late for work. Office hair needs to be neat but also stylish and Susan’s and Valerie’s new looks have achieved that. As the saying goes ‘A stitch in time save nine’ investing in a professional haircut and some quality haircare products saves you time and ensures you look and feel great throughout the long office day.
